Not a good pick of it but it's all I got. It's a 2002 F250 Superduty with the 6.8 V10, Tows nearly as well as a diesel but with lower MPG. Plenty of low end torque to get rolling and plenty of power up top to pass.

81 C20, ugly but works, will be putting the 350 Chevy out of the 78 Cutlass and a 700R4 in pretty soon.

What's that get, 8 MPG?

pontiac6269, what gearing is in your 81? I had 2.76 gears in my 78 1/2 ton. The original sbc 350 and it's replacement were dogs. The Olds 307 and 350 that replaced the last sbc 350 were much stronger bottom to top. The deep 3.06 700R4 first gear will help launch but will fall on it's face when you hit second without decent gearing.

Anywhere from 7 to 15 or so. Depends on how aggressive you are with the throttle. 4.30 gears really get the tach moving.

My '66 is the tow rig. It currently runs a 400, MY6(A833) overdrive, and 308s. It pulls like crazy but just doesn't weigh enough for heavy loads. The tow dolly has no brakes and weighs 600-800 pounds so anything bigger than a Honda Accord gets interesting. The El Camino is going back to stock before I get in to trouble. I need something bigger.

Believe it or don't but this year 1 Durango with 5.9 pulled that 13 foot trailer w/ np at least half of the approximately 150,000 miles it has. It has broke down a grand total of less than 5 times, luckily never w/ the trailer behind it. Same engine, Same trans. The trans has got to go soon, but the 5.9 still runs so smooth that even when the Y pipe corroded and a gaping hole was in it we didn't even find the leak for weeks b/c the amount of exhaust fumes was so little. It leaks a little oil from the pan but still keeps good oil pressure and can seat 7 people comfortably while pulling that trailer - but I'm not going to try it since it is getting rustier by the minute suddenly. lol. No complaints here - except how difficult it was to get those new headlamps in. What a disaster that was why couldn't chrysler design those headlights to slide in from the front and save everyone an hour + time lol.
