This truck will give you a wild ride and it's been doing it for 9 years....I wonder why it is still being sold...

There's something to be said about the very high quality manufacturing tolerances that most import vehicles share, but this falls on the laps of the engineers. That video is crazy! The Dodge looked the best going through the slalom.

They probably figured it was cheaper to pay the lawsuits from potential crashes than to redesign the chassis.

got excited when I saw the title.... then let down. toyota hasn't used the Hilux name in the states since 1977, and I had a '76 model....

I don't know about Canada, but here in the states, most buyers don't even think about the avoidance test (or have even heard about it ), or most of the safety tests in general. For them, it's the reliability, or the status vehicle to have. I know from experience what a moose avoidance test is, but never really think about it other than when I used to brag about Volvo's making sure it passed it. most of the newer trucks, I wouldn't even want to turn into my driveway too fast, they're just over inflated pigs now...

That's ridiculous! Pretty good reflexes on those test drivers though. I'm sure most regular drivers would have crashed in that situation. I'm pretty sure every car I have could do better than that in the same maneuver, even my tired old '88 GMC K1500.

Wow, Toyota REALLY dropped the ball on this one.

Wow, I definitely have never seen these tests. I thought rollover wasn't really an issues anymore since the Bronco II disaster of the 80s/90s. Do they still use the Hilux name in Canada?
