Although I would like to think I am pretty good with tools and can usually work through any task. Well I'm having a little trouble removing the trans lines from Malibu wagon's TH350 trans. I have a flare nut wrench but just don't have enough room to work. Any tips would be helpful. The only thing I haven't done is lower the tail of the trans and retry. Or maybe use a Crow Foot to get at the coolant lines.
My last effort would be to just leave the lines attached and If they get banged up when removing the Motor and Trans, then I would just have to replace the lines with a prebent Stainless set.
What are your tricks to aid in this simple task? Thanks. I WILL be removing this thing in the MORNING regardless.

if you end up damaging the lines I have removed then by cutting the lines at the fitting and using a 6 point socket to remove the fittings

I left them on when I took the motor and trans out, I had the front clip off tho so it was very easy not to damage them

i replaced my rad the same time i swapped engines, so i just took the trans lines off the rad, plugged the ends of the lines so i didnt get crap in them and left them attached to the trans and didnt mess them up at all... personally, i would just leave them attached, or just replace them...

Yeah leaving the lines on sounds worth a try.

I just pulled my turbo350 with the lines still on, it was pretty easy, didn't have any problems.

BE CAREFUL... i fuct my trans line up... i had pushed it out of the way a little too much and then removed it completely and i ended up kinking it on the fitting that screws into the trans and when i screwed it back into the trans the fitting rubbed the line and made a hole/split right at the fitting...

I usually use a 6 point flare nut crows foot on a short extension......you may have to use an open end wrench to hold the fitting that screws into the transmission.

If you're not sure what I'm talking about they look like this

You should be able to buy them individually at places part stores or sears.
