Just as the topic says, does anyone know the fluid capacity for a 200-4r? Also, will a 200-C dipstick work in a 200-4r?

dry is 11 qts .... fluid change I believe is 4.5 - 5 qts. I've used a chrome th350 dipstick on my 200-4r ... so I imagine the th200c would work.

Going to have to buy transmission fluid for my new transmission, when I get it in, and did a search (imagine that) on here, and came up with this thread.
Dry 11 qts you say, and should I assume that is not including the amount to fill the torque convertor? I am thinking you mean fill the convertor, then 11 qts into the transmission itself, right?

11 quarts would include what is going in the torque converter, I believe

Thanks. Haven't looked up the actual specs, and since I was on here, I knew someone knew. 😀

Was hoping someone had reccomendations on ATF fluid as well, since this is a fresh transmission. I want to take advantage of synthetic fluid, but what do you guys think on it? Is it like a motor, in that you should let it "break in" for so many miles before putting synthetic in, or just go ahead and do it from the beginning, with the transmission? I would think it would be better from the beginning, for the transmission, to run synthetic. AM I wrong?
I want to run synthetic, but at about $10-12 a quart, ouch. What are your opinions guys?

I would ask the place that built it. It might make a difference in their honoring the warranty.

Did you already install it?
Did you fill the converter?

No, it is still in the crate. Everything still dry.

I hopefully will be putting it in soon, though, so I have been trying to button up loose ends. I guess I will call John and see what he recommends.
