Im sure some of you folks saw the first thread about the hunt for a normal transmission mount for my wagon. I thought I had the right one but theres an issue. The mount wont fit flush to the case because of the casting. I can cut the mount to make it fit. I was also looking at Energy poly mounts. If I go that way Im not sure which one of their mounts is the correct one to buy. The local auto parts carries the 3.1108. Anything else has to be ordered.
The other reason Im not sure if I should just cut the new mount is its actually a little higher than the mount I had in my parts pile. Same part number. Just a different brand. Im kinda puzzled why the old one that I had for years does the same thing as far as hitting the casting. Maybe it was on the TH400 that I put in my 81. I used an Energy mount on that one.
So, if I use the original I have to trim the bottom and side to get it to fit. It looks like I might have to do the same to the Energy.
What do you guys recommend ?
