What are my transmission options with little to no modifications for a 83 GP that had a 305 with a TH350c and now has a chevy 350? If you know of a good place online to get one and a torque converter rebuilt with a warranty for about $600 too I'd appreciatte it. Thanks in advance?

TH350 (noC) is a direct fit, but does not have lock up. I'd put a TH200R4 in and get the matching crossmember, although I have put a TH350 in on a TH200R4 crossmember, but it sucked. I don't know if it would work the other way.

Make sure the TV cable is mounted right if you go with a 200r4.

I don't know on the $600 part, that's kinda cheap.

The THM2004R would be a good choice since there would be no mods necessary. You'll need the 2004R cross member since the mount for the trans is postioned further back toward the rear as compared to the THM350. If you can find a donor car, you'll need the shift linkage rod that goes between the column & cross shaft. The speedo cable for the 2004R is slightly longer, but the cable for the 350 should still reach.

200-4r for the win! but for $600 you wont find anything new. look for a BRF (from a GN) or a CZ (from a monte ss) from a junkyard, along with the driveshaft and crossmember. however, no matter what trans you get, you need to change the speedo gear to the correct one, which means you need to know what rear axle ratio is, or will be. BTW with a 350 and 200-4r combo, 3.08 to 3.73 ratios work very well.
