transmission PROBLEMS

hello everyone i have a 82 cutlass supreme 454 bbc swap i bought the car with a mild 350 and turbo 350 transmission spedo was always way out of wack because of gearing and such but i put a built 700r4 ininstead and its electronic speed sensor can anyone give me any info on how i can use the 700r4 with my car and use a spedometer and have it working properly i have no idea how to convert spedo from mechanical to electronic i dont mind having to buy an autometer spedo if i have to either thanks steve i have 454 bbc 3.73 gears and a 700r4 transmission with 2800 stall and stage 2 trans go shift kit 275 60 15 on the rear

you can convert the trans to mech speedo just need the gears the best way is to go to a junkyard & pull a tail housing & gears from a older pickup / caprice /impala that has a 700r4 the gears can be found to make your speedo read right you need 15 tooth driven & 41 tooth drive gears the retainer clip /speedo gear housing/ clamp & bolt patc sells everything you need if you cant find it in a yard

get the cable housing the bolts to the transmission out of they yard. get the correct gears for your set up and youll be good. i havbe a 700r4 and did the same thing. look for older trucks 2wd. these a ton of them out there with 700r4s

Some newer 2004R's in Cadillac's have the the same set up and can be converted over to cable drive.

there are a ton of old 700r4s out there. easier to come across. Came in cars, trucks, and vans so they are every were.

I get my transmission stuff from wittrans.com they have the gears,clips,housing,seals for it
