newport news, viginia
there is a guy on anouther fourm that has a malibu and he said it was great . I made mine my self.

i have the jegs x member but havent put it in yet, i got it from my buddy and he said there was no problems putting it in. he did however say, you need to use the jegs exhaust with it or make your own.

ok so i purchased the one i linked above and it wont fit. i have the th350 and it wont fit. seems to het the floor pans and come up a bit short of the frame rail. i am so confused. am i doing something wrong? is there a way to run a solid transmission mount with the funky factory xmember? all i am looking to do is run sloid mounts

Hmm, this post strikes a nerve with me. I just bought one of the Jegster X-members to put the T-5 in my SS and my T5 actually rubs on the floorpan also on the shifter rail.

Due to me seeing this that someone else is having problems with fitment I think I will try to call them tomorrow so I can hear what they say about this. I am sure they will tell me that I am the only one having this problem.

ok so heres a bit of my conversoation back and forth with the seller of the item.
me:
the transmission crossmember i purchased does not fit my vehicle, is it a possibility that the wrong one was sent. it hits the floor board and is about 1.5 to 2'' short
Seller:They're all the same except cutlass s...we use them and they work...the hoop is bigger on the pass. side and it rubs the floor a small amout.Make sure the bigger hoop is on the passenger side..
me:im tyring to put it inmy 1980 buick regal. which of course is a gbody. i have a th350. it seems that the crossmember is too short and the hump on the driver dide hits the floor board not allowing the xmember to come completely up the bigger hoop is on the ps, it rubs the driver side and it also comes up about 2 inches short of the frame rail mount. it clearly must be the worng mount. i just dont understand it having these problems if it was the correct mount.
seller:These are all jig welded and all g bodys except cutlass s are the same up until 84.Measure straight across your frame rails..what does it measure across....if they were wrong then all would be wrong because they are all the same and the cutlass needs a longer one but not Buick.are you sure you have a turbo 350 not a 400??
me: i will measure as soon as i get a chance to. yes i am sure its a th350 as thre modulator is in the rear and i recently put a reverse valve body in it. trust me i know my gm's. but if one sode is lined up the other side is about 2'' too short. and it hits the driver side floor board to were i cant even git it to go up ontop the frame rail like it is supposed to go. ok it seems that from inside to inside, were the frame is boxed for the xmember my frame is around 45''. the crosmember i was sent measuring straight across mfrom the inside of the mounting flange to the opsite inside flange measures around 41.5 to 42''
seller:42" IS CORRECT so the flange with the holes sits down on the bottom frame rail lip.you dont happen to have any pictures do you so I can tell you what you're doing wrong....If Ive never had one not fit then you're doing something wrong....or the frame has been wrecked or changed.
me:my frame is 45'' inside to inside, your xmember is 42''
seller:Why dont you just send them back and Ill refund your money....Its obvious you got something wrong.they are all 42" to the inside edge of the crossmember and its 45" to the outside of the angles that sits on the bottom frame rail.If the bottom rail of your frame is more than 42 1/2" inside to inside then your frame is damaged and you need frame work
me:i will double check this weekend when i get home, my frame was messed up but it was pulled back to factory specifications. also my factory crollmember measures longer than the one supplied from you. i will check one more time this weekend. if it does not work can i get a return adress from you
Seller:The factory crossmember is going to be different because it came with a TH200 trans so it dont bolt where the TH350 does...they are a different length trans.

ok guys so the car was wrecked a few years back but the frame has since been pulled back. also the factory crossmember is longer as in measuring straight across the mounting points not the actual physical length. let me know what you all think of this. i really need to figure out a way to run a solid transmission mount so i can finish the car. i already have my solid motor mounts and frame pads installed. please help

oh yeah my car was a v6, dont know if tyhat helps any. it no longer is but it was and still retains factory xmember

The person talking to you don't know what the hell they are talking about, the 200c transmission that you took out of your car has the exact demensions as the TH-350.

cross member

i have a 88 cutlass supreme classic and i bought a gforce cross member about 6 yrs ago when putting a 355 and 700r4 transmission in . i could not get it to fit in . they took it back .
i had same problem , hit on pass side , my car never wrecked and had 307 but i put 355 in it . i had 700r4 transmission though. i still couldnt get it to fit either. people thought i was wrong also . good luck !!!!

What about getting a universal tubular xmember from like competition engineering and making that fit? They are designed for race cars so a solid mount would probaly work great on one of them.
