my metric 200 just stopped going into reverse but goes foward fine so they say i need a new one how long do i have until it completely goes out? and i also found a turbo 350 trans but it came outta a camaro so i was if that would be a hard fit on my 307 cutlass and what all would i have to do to make it fit thank you

same thing happened to me when I had the 307...went about a month with no reverse til I got a junkyard TH350...hated having to flinstone my car in reverse. i don't the camaro one will bolt up...you need to find one with a B.O.P. (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) bolt pattern

My stock 305 w/ 200 Trans did the same thing. Before reverse went I lost 2nd gear. It would just slip until it kicked up into 3rd. I would just loose it all together. If your Th-350 is the right bolt pattern and shaft length you should just swap it out. Also while your at it, you might consider a double hump crossmember. If your intrested in running dual exhaust in the future. just a thought.

ok thanks but let me see if i got this straight i can get a trans ou of any buick olds or pontiac? and if i go to the junkyard to get a trans how can i tell if its good or bad? and i was wondering is it safe to drive with no reverse i mean would it or would it not just die suddenly and not move just curious

You're looking for BOP pattern which is attached to any Buick Olds Pontiac motor. If you look you will see that a fair share of Buicks Pontiacs Olds are chevy powered under the hood and therefore dont have the BOP pattern. Some will have dual patterns and are therefore universal.
