Which ones are you guys running? I cant weigh the car right now since it's buried in snow and the transmission is slipping. But while I have the money I need to get the springs ordered. So, just curious which rate spring your running and what you have done to the car(big block, small block, cast heads, aluminum heads, removed heater, etc.) to try to get a comparison for what to buy. Thanks!

Im assuming fronts?

I have the lightest and cut 1/2 a coil.
Sbc aluminum heads and took all the sh*t out the front.

sorta off topic, why do they call them trick springs? (I couldn't find the answer on google)

Thank you and yes fronts. I also have an aluminum headed sbc but with the little blower it is more like a cast headed sbc. However i'm going fiberglass bumper and homemade aluminum core support, no hood, and all heat and a/c removed. I'm leaning towards the light ones as well.

They are tall with a lower rate to "store" energy. Helps with weight transfer for drag racing.

In all honesty i'm torn right now between the trick springs and just going back to a stock v6 spring. I currently have about 1 3/4 coils cut off from a v6 spring now so i've got sh*t for travel. Not horribly concerned with ride height as much as getting the front end up on launch.

2 weekends ago with stock V6 springs with about a coil cut off for ride height.

And that /\ is why i'm torn on what to do lol. I think I will be able to hook ok for now with stock springs, but was thinking the trick springs may help more as the slicks start to wear a little(I think I was spinning just a bit on the last trip last year). And might also help with getting some air under the tire.

I have a BBC in a cutlass full weight. Even cast heads. Tried using trick springs moroso 47215 and it sat on the bump stops. Ended up with moog 5660 springs. Still have the 47215's in box never driven on.

Those list as 3rd gen f-body springs. I would expect them to sit a little lower than g body springs. I'm somewhat curious as to where it would put my ride height since my front end should be lighter. PM sent.

Moroso springs are generic springs. For stock bucket a arms. Afco makes a great spring for g bodies. Stored energy is good, but you also need to control travel through shocks, upper control adjustable stops or limiting straps.
