trubo 350 question

Hey guys quick question.I know little about trannys but in my 83 monte sc I have a turbo 350 that has went bad&Im looking to buy a replacement&I thought all turbo 350s would change but someone else told me they bout one for there monte&it wouldnt fit???So are they all not interchangable>?Thanks!

theres a 6inch and 9 inch tail shaft, you have the 6 inch. So that's pretty much all TH350s. The 9 inches came in the trucks and theres a lot of them too. But most of the time the ones you see for sale at least in my area are the 6 inch
