hi I was wondering if anyone has done true dual exhaust on a 3.8l v6 I got the headers just need to see if someone has done it using the stock trans cross member

Back in the late 90's my brother had a '83 Cutlass with a 3.8L that we put on headers, and true 2" duals with turbo mufflers and resonator tips. It upped his mileage to around 28 mpg I believe (he definitely drove alot less aggressive than I did). It had a pretty different yet cool sound (higher pitched throaty tone) especially when on the gas hard in the higher rpm's. We took out the stock cross member and notched it a little and plated it.

Ok I just wanted to know if anyone did it before I have the zz572ci it is 720hp for the cutlass for next summer

Why would you put headers and new true dual exhaust on a car with a 3.8 in it if you plan to swap in a 720hp 572?
Do you plan on getting new full exhaust "next summer" when you do the swap? Do you own a muffler shop or a pipe bender?

i just want somthing more louder and yea i have a pipe bender at my work

Be smart about this Tyler. If you're going to build an exhaust system just to toss it all next year and start over then.....

A more logical solution would be to install the exhaust system you're going to want when you drop in that Chebby into your Olds. Obviously you'll have to modify the front of the exhaust to get it to work between the two diffetent engines but at least you're not having to redo the whole thing.

Best thing is to leave the exhaust stock for now. The 3.8s are weak and hopeless to sup up unless it is one of the turbo versions.
