hey guys i'm trying to get power to the accessories in the car so i can get cd out of my cd player in the car i'm jumping off the other car i have with jumper cables, i grounded the main ground that goes to the starter, and the negative wire and put the negative wire from the 12v jumper on and just put clamped the hot what am i doing wrong ?? my alarm didnt go off so motor is out i'm just trying to get power real quick does the thick ground that goes to the starter ground the whole system??

to get power to the fuse panel and accessories you need to put 12v to the two lines with the fusable links that go to the starter
ok so i leave whats grounded grounded right and then just put both fused link together and put the 12v hot to it?
that should work as long as the body is grounded...the grounding strap from the engine to the body is gone if you have the engine out
