20160410_151415.jpg This were your distributor wires should be going into the fire wall. So retard box is under the dash some were. I could not see mine. Sorry picture doesn't show very well. It is behind the carb on the fire wall. 20160410_151333.jpg This is the vacuum diagram for your car. I have pictures of the carb if you need them too! Very difficult to find the lines and were they go on the engine. I had to sort mine out some and cap some off to get my engine to run right. You need to look at 81cutlass Cutlass build. He took a draw through engine out of a Monte and rebuilt it and put it in a Cutlass. He would be a real good sorce for information. If you need anything else just let me know.

Heres my thread thats worth looking at. https://gbodyforum.com/threads/81-cutlass-build-thread.11915/

I never got the parts to run the factory ESC stuff. Im assuming it didnt work when the last owner had it. I bought an MSD BTM and ran an NA distributor. Set the dial to about 1 degree per PSI and 91+ window washer (alky injection) and it never detonates.

ESC stuff has some resistance wires that can't be fixed if cut. Boxes also oozed the epoxy out and capacitors burst. The BTM's just make it an easy relatively cheap option.

If you want to do manual feedback (aka see how much knock you get and adjust dial as needed) get a knocksense. http://www.viatrack.ca/

I have an 80 turbo MC with carbureted Buick 231 & its missing the turbo control module that mounts to the fan shroud.

Does anyone have 1 for sale or is there an up-to-date replacement for it?
Hi there did you ever figure out your problem with the missing ESC box? Im having the same issue and im hoping that i wont have a problem if i use premium gas only.

Do you have a Turbo Monte? It is under the dash some place. If is not working your best bet is to do something like 81cutlass's or modernize it. I have thought about an aftermarket TBI injection. That could get expensive for what it's worth though.

I dont have an ESC box at all.

If it were me I would go with a 84 on up engine, or convert yours to one. The draw through lack a lot of performance compared to the later fuel injected engines. If you run a aftermarket TBI injection you could control the retard on distributer with the controller. I have flirted with the idea of converting mine to blow through. Using 87 headers and turbo set up, four barrel intake and a fuel injected TBI . The reason I haven't is I think it will get pretty expensive for what it's worth!
