I view the turbo as the muffler, at least that's what I told officer Friendly the last time I was pulled over.

Kidding aside, what you see in these pics is our tailpipe - that 4" oval tubing (same cross sectional area as 4" round). It's attached to a 4" down pipe that's hooked to an S480. It's not loud and very streetable until both wastegates open. Once they do you can't hear yourself think, but I kinda like it.

Running a turbo through a muffler, :/ why? Do you know what you're giving up in terms of HP with your current setup. Forget about the silly high EGT's your creating. What motor, cam and turbo are you running?
I like that oval pipe. I'm running a lq4, JFR 224 cam, 78mm on3 turbo

I run 76mm Precision, single stainless system all the way out the back with 3.5” Borla XR-1. I now run a l77 6.0 motor, custom Steve Morris Turbo Cam. Lift in Lower .600’s, duration upper 220’s. Sounds great and it’s not obnoxious at all. Nice deep tone.

I bet it's pretty snotty - lol. Remember this - you can't get too much turbo - think bigger 🙂 A 6.0 with a big cam is being held back by a 78mm T4 turbo IMHO. But i'll guess it it is terror on the street 🙂🙂

Nice. I was looking at that muffler. And thinking of doing exactly what you did. I like that setup. My sounds weazy and lame.

Yea it pulls nicely but quite a bit more laggy than my turbo Buick v6. Like you said it might be time for a turbo upgrade 😊

Is that completely custom? The tail pipe looks like a tricky bend. How’s the 76 precision? The on3 is a bit laggy

The nature of a turbo is to be 'a bit laggy', but you make up for it on the other end - lol. Hit's like a freight train and doesn't give up like a blower or nitrous shot.

Yes, I had to fab the exhaust front to back. Fitting 3.5” up and over the housing and getting a smooth bend to exit behind the wheel was a little tricky but I took my time and it turned out pretty nice. The entire exhaust including primaries into the turbo are all stainless. Very heavy but worth it.

The 76mm Precision spools really fast. I bring in quite a bit of timing and lean it out under 3500 rpm to make it spool even faster.

You really can’t go wrong with a borla. They flow so well, quality is top notch and The sound is hard to beat.

Did you put in a flexible section? What kind of gasket, if any did you use between the manifold and turbo? Mine leaks, and all can find is the chintzy thin metal gasket. The manifold flange was slightly warped, so I filed it flat. Any recommendations?
