When I turn the right turn signal on the light on the dash stays on and the lights on the right stay on,I changed bulbs and I’m thinking it might be the switch, but I don’t know.
Also, dumb as it sounds, certain multi-filament bulbs can be installed backwards.
For example, what you talk about I was rushing and popped in some taillight bulbs, got what you describe here. Took the light back off, removed the bulbs, and reinsert with the small bump/prongs on the side going into the opposite slot of the one they were in, problem solved.
Now, what you describe is usually the idiot warning in the crude system running these cars. It can even be as simple as something wrong with a bulb that still lights up, but, one filament is bad.
I agree on the flasher unit but believe if it was bad it should effect both left and right. I would also recommend checking the ground in the trunk which is located at the rearmost point of the trunk floor near the drop off for the quarter panel on the driver side. I had this ground wire break off but again it should effect both left as well as right.
Next check your sockets especially the grounds where they attach at the sockets for a loose or broken wire, Also look close at all your double filament bulbs for a filament that has failed but is arcing across the parking light circuit. Had an El Camino that was famous for that issue. Last is the 194 or 168 bulb in the front corner marker light outboard of the headlight, I do not remember if it is designed to flash with the turn signal but seeing it lit leads me to believe you have a bulb with the filament bridging over to the parking lights.
