Turn Signal Issues

I am having a problem with the turn signals on my 83 Cutlass. When my headlights are off they work as they should, but when I turn the headlights on the do not work like they should. Could this be the turn signal switch in the column? Any one else ever had this issue or something similar happen to them? Any and all help would be great.

You might have just enough of a connection for one or the other but not both. Mine were old and corroded. I unscrewed the grounds and used a tiny piece of sandpaper to cleqan 'em up. Works awesome now.

Which ground, the one for the steering colum wires. Any help would be great. Thanks.

One in the trunk (driver's side?) AND one near the headlights/radiator (maybe on pass side?)
