Hello G body forum....I am new to the site but not new to the G body's. I am working on my seventh Mali and this one will be coming with me to Tuscan AZ..Can't wait to beat the streets with some G's. Any G body clubs around Tuscan? I will be the local base there and wanna cruise.

Welcome aboard.

Doug

Thanks to all who replied.. I so ready to see what the west coast is all about. Hopefully I am able to meet some cool fella's who are in love with some G body's. I am going to figure out how to post a pic of mine. Just picked it up.

This is my Mali that I traded for a couple weeks ago. Car has a bad cam and is pretty weak so I am in the process of putting a new heart together...

As a resident of Tuscon until fairly recently... good luck!

So what's sending you to the blasted reaches of southermost Arizona? College? Work? Political exile?

On the plus side, at least your Malibu won't rust.

I am being stationed out that way.....I have been at this same base since September 1, 2001 and boy I will never forget that month...ten days after 9/11 went down...How'd you like Tuscan? I love to hit the dragstrips but I heard there alot different from the east coast.

Davis-Monthan, eh? Not the worst part of town at least.

I don't know too much about drag racing in Tucson, but if you want to go fast with other people trying to go faster than you, take a drive out on Ajo Highway. It's relatively flat past the big hill on the way out of town, relatively straight, relatively cop free, and features two glorious lanes of 90+ mph traffic all day every day(the speed limit is 65. Welcome to Arizona!).

To be completely honest... I thought Tucson was kind of a shithole. It's hot, it's expensive, it has some of the worst roads in Arizona, which in turn has some of the worst roads in the southern U.S., and pretty much everyone north of 6th is an *******. It has some absolutely fantastic Mexican food, though. If you're into that, check out Pico de Gallo on 6th ave and 36th st, or El Sur on 22nd st just past Craycroft.

To be fair, I'm being a little harsh on Tucson. It's not really that bad a place, especially if you like driving hard, and it has a lot of decent people in it. All you really need to do to meet fellow g-body enthusiasts and/or people with impeccable taste is cruise around southern Tucson visiting small stores for a while. Chances are someone will strike up a conversation about it at some point, or at the least try to panhandle a few bucks off you.
