Duh, I don't know how to get these u-joints out of the driveshaft cause they don't have any snap rings. Look...

Anybody know the best way to get these out? It is out of a 70 camaro if that helps.

heat them up with a torch and press them out or whack the crap out of them with a hammer and old socket.they'll pop right out.

I have the same damn problem,i tryed drilling the plastic grooves out with a drill and then trying to press the u joint out but still nothing. Is torching them the only way?

See those little plastic t*ts at the top of the ears? Those are plastic injections that the factory used to hold the caps in place. Just press the caps out and the plastic will shear. If you don't have a press, a big vise and some sockets will do it. A BFH in not the right way as it may distort the whole joint.

i guess my vise isnt strong enough,it still wouldnt pop out,i bent the vise bar and still didnt move a hair

Make sure there are no clips holding the caps in. They can be inner or outer and covered with crud. If no clips then you need to apply more force. Know any repair shops with a big press? Truck stop? Most will do it for a small fee. Pressing the new ones in is much easier, but beware bending the ears or they won't line up correctly.

If you hold a torch on the joint until the nylon injection stops coming out, the caps will come out after that. They are a pain in the butt, but the nylon locking injection has to be completely torched out. You then replace them with inside lock ring u-joints. I broke a bench top vise in half removing the nylon injection u-joints on my girlfriends S10's driveshaft.
