Hello folks. I have a 1980 El Camino and am wondering what size the U-joints are? I'm thinking about replacing them but don't know the size. The vehicle is 40 miles away from me right now so I'm hoping you all can help me. Thanks in advance.

Typical GM there are two vendors for the G drive shafts Saginaw and Dana. If it is a Saginaw it uses u joints with the clips on the inside.

Dana the clips go in grooves on the yoke and driveshaft.

Don't think anyone uses this number anymore but it is a 3R or 3RS.

GM 7806140 this number also fits some Corvettes and other collector cars so is usually overpriced.

Which is exactly what I said in the first place... 234 is non greaseable, 235 has a grease fitting.
