U JOINT STRAPS???'s

The u joints were replaced 2 years ago

That = 2yrs of driving around w/poor fitting parts that have possibly/probably been shifting around causing wear & tear that normally would not exist w/parts that fit together correctly.

Cheap insurance is just replacing the joint as well since you now know there was an issue w/how things were not right.

I'm cheap and lazy so I understand shortcuts, and have definitely done worse, but please try to replace that joint some time soon if possible. You just can't have that kind of problem without there being damage, period. If nothing else it beat on the needles and slightly changed their shape which will lead to an early failure. A Spicer 1310 or whichever is $30: Even though the one you've got doesn't seem to indicate a problem, prior knowledge says the risk vs reward isn't worth it.

My guess is the old straps were stretched. If a new strap is snug on the cap. There should be a bit of an air gap which will not be closed up until the bolt is torqued down.

Yep that what they said at the driveline shop,bad straps or the yoke.
