Maybe it's time they start creating a fire buffer zone between the nature and residential neighborhoods

That's exactly what I said when I seen the first pictures of these neighborhoods in ash. <y thoughts were that if you could afford California living of this type, then you could afford a 100 yd strip of stone around your community. If you think about the costs associated with road maintenance that we experience in the N/E, and how these people have no salt, snow, or frost to ruin their roads, then they should be able to afford some fire protection. At least IMHO.
 
The fire didn't discriminate between the rich, middle class, and retirees...all were all effected equally.
The devastation is just incredible.
My friend just came back from a vacation in Napa valley. I'm sure they're in shock knowing the places that they've visited and stayed at are no longer in existence.

The fury of mother nature.
