Under hood light doesn't work.

I have now seen both styles, my first '80 Cutlass Calais had the mercury style light, and would come on regardless of if the lights were on or not.
My second '80 Calais does not have the mercury style switch. The lights have to be on for it to work. Threw me for a loop at first! Weird...

With the Oldsmobile Cutlass, the underhood light only is lit when you lift the hood up and turn on the headlamp switch. Not sure about the G-bodies but the A-body that is the case.

Yes, it only works with your lights on. So finally remembered to check it and it's working. Thanks all.
