Im thinking about runing some 1.6 rockers with my magnum 280h cam will this hurt my performance? Will i get more performance with 1.6 rockers? righ now i have 1.5 & my lift is 480

Without knowing what the rest of your combination is there's no way we could tell you whether it will help or hurt. All I can tell you is that you will get more valve lift.

I have a sbc 350 bore 40 over 76cc heads, 125 dome pistons with shim head gaskets 10.1 compression, edelbrock RPM intake, Holley 650 double pumper, 2200-2700 stall, long tube headers

If your springs and retainers have room for around .520 lift, you'll probably see a hp slight improvement. Not sure if you'll actually feel it.

I'm always afraid to have that much lift. Also, your springs need to be strong enough to handle that much lift.

The pushrod side of the 1.6 rocker arm is shorter than stock. Something to watch is pushrod in head slot. Make sure it clears the rocker side of the slot. (closest to stud) Stock sbc heads are .480 safe. Open spring pressure is an issue as stated. But more so, is the retainer hitting the guide top, at max lift. I just calc your cam for .512 lift with 1.6, I'd run it. It's a little more time off the seat= more flow.
