v6 manual transmission same as v8?

still very determined to do a manual swap and found a local el camino that is a manual v6 for very cheap. Are the transmission the same? or is the v6 transmission weaker?
 
it should be the same Saginaw box for all of them. Only thing to make sure is you get a 4-spd and not a 3-spd, unless you're into that 😉 . I know there were 3-spd El Camino's so just FYI.

If nothing else you'll get all the gear to do the 4-spd swap: bellhousing, clutch setup, interior bits, steering col. etc. AFAIK the 3 vs. 4 used the same basic setup wrt to the shifter location, etc.
 
Chevys are the entry-level GM division, so they were more likely to offer a bare bones drivetrain, including 3 spd manual and 6 cylinder.

I dont know I'm a little skeptical about the transmission being as sturdy as the v8 ones but for the price its probably worth it just for all the swap pieces i'll be getting.
