Valvoline Restore and Protect, does it really restore and protect your motor?

For some reason, it isn't available in Canada yet. I have ordered it a couple of times from the states. I received 1/2 a jug of 0W20 from Ebay, no internal seal and the cap moved. I mixed with their full synthetic for my Challenger. I received a free jug for it's replacement and put in it my Daughter's 2013 Ford Edge with just over 200,000 Km. I checked her oil, it is much darker than usual, only ever gets to medium brown. Really hoping the water pump holds out. I just ordered another 5W20 for the next oil change for the Challenger. According to Lake Speed Jr, it does exactly as it claims a according to the oil analysis. I like to change the oil at 40 to 50% on the monitor, which is 8500 to 10,000 km. I buy the best oil I can get on sale but may run this exclusively in the Challenger. Thoughts and opinions, like I need to ask😃.

I've never used it but am definitely a Valvoline fan. It used to be all I ran. Does this have the same additive as the "High Mileage" stuff that makes rubber swell? I currently run Mobil Delvac 15/40 Extreme heavy duty diesel truck oil with STP Ceramic and Rislone ZDDP for a total of $35 each time. If this doesn't kill rubber seals or cost too much I'd definitely consider using it.

My understanding is, it meets or exceeds all the current standards. No seal swelling agents and regular ZDDP levels. The wear tests are good and the cleaning agents definitely work. I checked my Daughter's Edge, the oil is blacker than I have ever seen with plenty of time left on the oil change. The 3.5 in it is just over 200,000 Km. I purchased 0W20 for the 3.6 in my Challenger. It seems no one but Summit has 5W20 in stock online. Honestly a 20 weight viscosity spread should be no issue and the viscosity should be similar for my boat towing. This will be the last till purchase of it till Vavoline actually releases it in Canada.

It's been my expeiriance as to doubt the validity of additives claiming to restore engines. if your motor has worn out bearings pumps and or rings some of the additive just make things worse . You could end up woth stuck oil pressure valves ,clogged oil pump screens . Stuck bypass valves on oil filters " loose carbon being dumped into and old motors oil .I'm going to refer you to a product that has ground up soft metal ... that basically will clog lifters and may make its way to bearings but so what if it dose "...thats about like wearing off metal in reverse it's going to stick on the mains and rods but chances are stuff like oil fed chain tighten er will still be way low on oil pressure . So no you can make an old dog learn new tricks .. if your cars useable : concentrate on keeping oil in it and consider replacing something like parts engines or let it sit untill you can .One additive claims to seal head gaskets ...it dosnt you will get a clogged radiator and will have heck to get it out of the system .I'm sure threre are many different situations as regarding wear and deterioration of gaskets that might allow a given car to be used with some evident defects , ...yes there are these lucky individual's !who can'....drive enythìng ...no mater the jeopardy. I'm certainly not saying you are not seeking advice, as you are and I say no restore additives periòd... thanks as for the lube additive stuff ,STP, Teflon uh moly b maybe ,graphite it's generally considered useable...at least for high mileage engines ect
