vynil top

anyone ever replace the top. i have 3 choices and not sure wich is close to factory. or if you know where to get original.

Number 3 looks the most like my top on my 78' and it is original. Never replaced one so I can't help you there.
 
yeah thats the one i was thinking as well. thanks for you response. i had a shop quote me 800.00. i can get the material for 100.00.

Damn where are you from? I got my top and new floor carpet and the back window deck redone for $800.00,I am in Nebraska This was a few years ago but still that seems
like a lot for just doing the top, post some pic of her when shes done please :wink:
 
I'm not into vinyl tops but I think if yours has the very thin padding or none at all it would definitely be something you could probably do yourself, I think the thicker padded ones would probably take a more experienced hand to make it look right. I know if I wanted a vinyl I would definitely attempt to do it myself.
Typically the tops are either a match for the interior of the car or will match the exterior very close to exact.
My Monte came with a black top on a black car with med. gray interior and had pinstripping that matched the interior color.

yeah mine has the black padding ,i removed the old vinyl today and the black padding stayed in tacked. ordered the elk texture. if i mess it up i can say i tried lol. now just have to figure out the glue to use to hold the new vinyl. we will see
 
I used their spray adhesive.
