YOU ARE THE MAN! I've just moved up my scheduling to convert my 86 El Camino to turbo v-6 power. Sounds like you no longer have this wagon. That's a shame. Can you tell me how did you deal with the wiring conversion. I have a TR harness, which plugs into the fuse panel, engine side, but I know there's other wiring necessary to complete the installation. I haven't sorted out this part of the project yet because I haven't been in contact with those who know the answers.[/quote]

I still have it, its currently apart for a frame off restoration. My wagon has a turbo regal engine, dash, light harness in it so its all pretty much plug and play, however when I put it back together after the resto I plan to customize the wiring harness's to hide the wiring as much as possible to clean things up. I have been working on turbo regals for 11 years, I work for Jim Dunn at Buick Turbo Performance if you need anything or have any questions just PM me and I'll help anyway I can.

Pics of the whole project are here http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee17 ... ?start=all
Latest pics are first all the way through when I put it back together the first time. I bought it as a roller from JIm, if you search for my threads you will find the whole story on this project.

Well, to say the least, I am impressed. Obviously you spared no expense or effort in your ground up conversion/restoration project, and the detailed photos are great for referencing locations of where certain things attach. I have quite a bit of experience myself with turbo regals, having owned and worked on most aspects of them, including paint and body, since '97. I have since sold my Red Regal T but today I own a pretty nice 87 GN http://rides.webshots.com/album/216747131FzfDoX

and an 87 equally solid dark red T. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/552192609dYdPYR

I have a Grand National hulk out in my back "yard" I use for undercarriage reference and parts, that I'm ready to cut the quarters from to save them from the elements and perhaps sell in the future. I have wanted to do a hybrid conversion for quite a while, but never thought I would pick up an el Camino for the right price. Junk is way overpriced as you probably know. As luck would have it, finally an '86 EL did pop up locally and I picked it up. It needs quite a bit, but most important to me it's a good straight body that it had very minimal rust, located mostly in the doors, which I hope to replace. It's a Florida car and somehow the quarters have never been hit or painted, and the frame has zero rust. I found some rust in the interior floor boards under the carpet, and though I have some rust free floor panels I could patch in, I'm just going to treat & patch the existing floor and paint it, nothing like the detailed work you have done to your wagon. All the work on this conversion is within my capability and expertise except the changeover wiring which I can do with direction. I know the connector at the firewall on the el camino will accept the TR plug but terminals/wires are missing for the fan, ign feed, and fuel pump power feed. This is most of what I have to sort out. Right now, I have an engine that I need to finish assembly on, a TR transmission, and a TR 8.5 posi rear, most brackets, intercoolers, headers and on and on.

Well, thankyou kindly for your offer of assistance, and I'm sure I will take advantage of it at some point once I get underway. Again, the photos you've provided will be very helpful to me.
