No. The only 350 installed in the '78-'87 Cutlass was the 350 Olds diesel. As for gas engines, the biggest Chevy was the 305, and the biggest Olds was the 307.

thanks for the fast reply

Yes I was aware of the 1979 hurst with the gas 350 olds engine option,we dont even need to cover that diesel version...

My friend worked in the dealer in those early A/G body years when GM was putting chevy engines into caddys, buicks olds, etc and he swears he had seen a olds cutlass with a 350 chevy but it was a extremely rare item...Perhaps he saw a 350 in a monte carlo or buick regal...any help on this ?

I am runing a stock class rules but have a chev 350 engine in my car and need to find ANY trivia about this to support my position before I am forced to put in a 305..Even if someone comes up with any metric A or G body that used the chevy 350 engine.

I have a book here on Chevrolet police cars, which claims that the 350 Chev V8 was available on the Malibu with the 9C1 police package from 1979-1981, but this was ONLY on the Malibu, and ONLY with the police package. It was not available on the Cutlass.

305 Chevy motors were factory-installed in Cutlii, but not 350s.

Thanks for the malibu trivia.I will try to use that info.

I am racing this car on a circle track and re skinning is common practice so I could say my car started as a regal, monte, grand prix or cutlass but the malibu is a bit shorter so it would be harder to say....

Another bit of trivia that was brought up lastnite was rear springs.Does anyone actually have the origional springs laying around?how many coils are there ?

I think they are looking for something because I have been spanking them too badly lately.

The Malibu is not shorter. The only A/G body car that had a different wheelbase was the El Camino, which was a bit longer. I worked in a muffler shop back in the day, and all of the A/G body cars used the same exhaust extension pipe, regardless of the division or body style. As I said, the only exception was the El Camino/GMC Caballero, which was a bit longer. Sorry, but I can't help you with your spring question. Maybe someone else on the board can help.

Go to autozone.com and you'll see a 350 four barrel listed, don't know if it's Chevy though.

The police package listed above would be your only way in on this one.

The earlier 78-80 A-body specials are slightly shorter in the body department than an 81-88 G-body, but they are still on the same basic frame.
