I'm wanting to run some Weld Drag Stars on my cutlass with some Mickey Thompson ET streets for street/strip driving but have no clue as to what size fits. I'm wanting the fattest tire out back without it sticking out and rubbing with some skinnies up front. Anyone know what offset and size I'll need? I think these cars look sick with drag slicks out back with the front dropped a little. Thanks

you have rear stock suspension and a stock length rear end with no cutting done im assuming. that being the case, forget using a 15x10. grab a 15x8 with 4.5 back spacing and run a 275/60/15 dragradial or slick. pretty much the biggest you can go without rubbing issues and headaches.

and yes it still looks mean as hell.

wheels / tires

Do you think the same combination will fit on my 86 el camino i have hd springs , competition engineering drag shocks, lakewood no hop bars etc right now on a stock monte ss rim im running a 235 60 r 15 m/t drag radial.

Thanks

I run 30x9 Hoosier drag radials on the Cutlass. Also have run the same size Good Year Eagle.

The rear is a stock 68 12 bolt , I believe it is 2" wider then a 7.5/8.5 housing.

The rims are 15x10 with 6.5 offset, so it would be 5.5 with a stock width rear.

I did use thin spacers to get it exactly centered. It tight but they do not rub , even when launching wheels up!

I like the radial since the sidewall is stiffer, bias ply would/did rub in the pits making turns.
