I got a little time to spray some water on it and look at how its draining. It seems to be going through and leaking out the door which didnt look good.

I looked at the vents that drain at the bottom of the windshield which didnt seem clogged. I think the problem may have been these weird little curved vinyl pieces to sides of the windshield drain vents that appear to direct the water away. The one on wet side was all bunched up. (If anybody understands my description lol)

Stupid thing to cause that problem and cheap engineering but I'm hoping I was right. Easiest fix ever.

hardtop car btw

Another place to look at is inside the A/C / Heater box under the hood. Remove the blower motor and look inside the opening with a light. You will see a clear rubber/plastic flapper maybe 2" x 2". That flapper should be covering an opening , if its not or half covered or missing what happens when it rains or when your washing your car some of that water will enter in the opening travel inside the ducking under the glove box and come out on the floor ducking on the passenger side and you have your wet carpet. Wet carpets was one of the biggest complaints at the dealer back then you will be suprised the crap I would find inside that opening , pine needles was the worst.
