there was a thread about this but i couldnt find it so ill post here. so this thing is what got me in to gbodies. i love oldsmobile and cutlasses so i bought a 72 cutlass. yea, i was way in over my head. way too much rust repair and things to deal with these old muscle cars. so i was lucky to sell it for $1k more than i bought it and bought an 86 cutlass. once the 86 cutlass is "finished" i will be buying another 71 or 72 cutlass but it will be in much better shape than the one i bought. It looks nice but if you opened the trunk you saw the floor and smelled gas.

what got me into g bodies? from when i was a little kid i loved the monte carlo ss and the 442. im talkin since i was 7 or so, when the kids at school were all into the posters of italian supercars at the school book fair i was in the back readin a hot rod magazine i stole from my dad, or a petersons off road mag. but theyed be all oh i want a ferrari or a lambo when i grow up, and i was like ehhh i think id like a 80 somthin monte carlo or an old 70s ford. well then the end of middle school came and beginning of high school and i still wanted want i now knew was bunch of cars sharing the same g body platform, or that old ford truck haha. when i turned 15 i had money saved and my mother wouldnt allow me to get an ss monte cause "my uncle had a monte carlo, and i wouldnt be able to handle it" and the truck was out of the question cause of course ited go off roading. so we settled on spending my money on an 85 el camino. well long story short the elky was awsome but my ambitions were higher than my skill so a brake line gone bad turned into a full resto after 1 year of being on the road. the next g body was my cutlass that was a basket cast before i got it but lasted me 2 years about. we still have an 84 grand prix for my fiance, we are currently swapping the frame on. and i just bought an 87 ls monte carlo which is the cleanest of all the cars i have bought. this all started at 15 and im just shy of 21. oh as for the elky its still alive, my brother is dong a great job with it and it is comin out great, he might be youger but hes definatly got more body exp. than me

Nice,,,,

When I was 18 my grandfather gave me a grand prix,,,think it was a 1983,,,,,had a small block in it and smoked the tires all the time. I did all the body work on it and after seeing an column in HOT ROD, a guy had a monte carlo in it painted either lake violet blue or pearl, I forget.

I was going to paint it and the engine blew. Long story short, used engine was put in, used engine no good, lifted up car to move and frame bent in half,,,,,ROTTED!!!!!.

So ever since I wanted another one. I love the "darth vader" look of the Regal and wanted to do my regal up like that. I never knew they had a darth vader concept until recently. So now I am unsure but if I could own 4 more regals, I would.
