I don't know if these are year specific, or model specific, or how it works. Does anyone for sure have the original '83 cassette tape for their '83 H/O? What tracks are on it? What does the case look like? I have been wanting to find one to complete my original setup.
Thanks.

Maddog20 that radio was not offered on any of the 83-87 H/O's or 442's. But that looks close to the radio in our '81 Toronado. And the 83's didnt come with digital radio's. But enclosed is pic of what the best (high end) AM/FM Cassette radio you could get.

What 83hurst-olds wanted to know was the Complimentary Cassette you received with your new Oldsmobile. I also enclosed pic of one. I believe it's the 83's, but thinking more it sounds like it's from our 84 Ciera?
Some of the songs are:
Oldsmobile Jingle
Neil Diamond - First you have to say you love me
Toto - Africa
Barbara Streisand - Comin in and out of your life
Bertie Higgins - Key Largo
Willie Nelson - Always on my mind

That is what came with my 87 442 and my 88 Cutlass Supreme Classic. Still have the radio that came with car.

Do they both have the same tracks as the one from the 83?
I have two of them I believe somewhere, one for my 83 Hurst and one for my 87 442, I found the one for my 83 Hurst but can't find the one for my 87 442.

I'll make a recording for you when I get to it, haven't had much free time in the past year... always something going on after work.

Thanks guys. Yes, I was asking about the actual tape that went with it, not the radio itself.

I understand '88HO, I still am hoping to find an original though a copy would be great.

High Roller (or anyone else for that matter) do you know if the tape is the same from year to year, or do they change them every year? I got outbid on one for an '84 but I didn't go very high since I wasn't sure it was correct anyway.

I know this quest probably seems trivial, but it is really one of the few things remaining to make the ride as complete and as original as possible.

Thanks!

They made a new one every year

Re: What is correct Oldsmobile Cassette Tape for '83 Hurst O

OK. Just to clarify, they would all be the same between the Olds models in '83?thanks for the info. Now, to find one... :?

I found somewhere online that some years of the tapes list the car year it was to go with inside the cover. Does yours? If so, where so I can ask people to look when looking to buy one since it seems the color scheme is the same for several years.

Oldsmobile just made 1 tape for all the cars that came with a tape deck every year. i have a couple cass tapes that are still in clear plastic wrapper. On the early 70's 8-tracks they "might" of had different paper holders that youd put the 8-tracks when you wernt playing them, but i was too young to know about that. but we even have the original '72 cutlass 8-track and all that says is oldsmobile on it too.
