Long time lurker, never got around to posting.

Hey Guys,

It seems I'm at a dilemma, last night I drove all the way to the hood to a crack house. I looked at an 86 Cutlass with 23000 actual miles, it drives like new, everything works, 307, with a perfect inside except the headliner is sagging. (Car has one of the best looking dashes I've ever seen.

Well, it sat under a car port and one side of the vinyl top is junk, as is the paint. My question is, should I buy this #### thing? It will need a new top and new paint, but after that it will be a like new, clean title 86 Cutlass with 23000 actual miles.

$2000 will buy it, and I can drive it 100 miles back home.

What's it worth as is? What's it worth fixed?
Prolly should add-

Maroon, Maroon top, maroon cloth insides (bench), 307, power windows (they both work) no sunroof, A/C (needs charged), rides and drives like a 20,000 mile car. No rust ANYWHERE, all the trim is there windows are perfect, stock wheels and wire hubcaps.

Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks, Skylar.

short answer....yes buy it. Seems like its worth $2000 to me

sounds a little to good to be true for what your saying, sounds like the car is in great shape, but i really dont know why any one would let it go for 2k unless like you said they may need more crack if your buying it from some one that lives in a crack house but good luck bro

As long as everything checks out on the title I would say that's a great deal.

Bring along a magnet and check the body for Mudd, something just doesn't sound right for it to be so lowly priced and Im assuming you didn't even have to negotiate to get it to a $2000.00 price ? Body not full of Mudd and otherwise in as you stated condition.................then I wouldn't wait too long, if crack is whats needed, any next possible buyer might beat you to it. Good Luck! Post pics of it when/if you get it.

anything with that low miles was usually well taken care of, and obviously hardly driven. If the body has no rust, its easily worth 2k, even if you want to put a monster motor in it!

sounds like a deal...

going to a crack house with $ 2,000 in your pocket ...in a bad part of town ?

bring friends , BIG MEAN FRIENDS.

YES, BE CAREFUL!!!<
Gbarrie.

BOWTIEKID, I think the price seems fair, though I don't believe 2k for the car you described is the killer deal everyone else seems to think is. I'm sure it's been sitting for a long time and that's never a good thing.

P.S. My spider senses are tingling that a nice unmolested Olds will soon be getting the classic SBC treatment....
