lol, carrying case means what kind of car is the LT1 sitting in?
even if you had just drained and dropped the pan, if this had fallen out, you'd still have traces of trans fluid on it. that green looks like assembly lube, or grease....

Yes its in my 79 Cutlass. Also just called my engine builder and he said he has no clue to what it is. Also just got a text from Lance (crucial 118) telling me to check my kids toys that was near my car. I checked my jack this morning to see if it came off it, but nothing.
are your A.I.R. tubes still in place? if so check around the ends, only other place I can think of that has a cap that small may be on the throttle body... IIRC there is one that covers up the blade adjustment screw....
have you worked on anything else in that immediate area recently? I'm always coming across stuff in the driveway from previous repairs..

No A.I.R. tubes, nothing like that on the throttle body. Also have not worked on anything else in that area, as I can not move the car. I search around everything high and low, but there is nothing that seems to be missing. I will feel stupid if its something from my kids toys.
