ok i need front springs bad! but there are a ton of different types. is there any that lowers it a little? i would like an inch drop if possible. if not just a nice spring thats better than stock. thanks guys

I went with 5662 on my 87.....I haven't driven it yet (motor still out), but at about double the stock spring rate, they are good and stiff, and IIRC should sit just a little lower than stock (maybe 1"?)....

and to begin with, the car had the 307, with the F41 springs, and a 333 is going in the car to replace the 307 (it is a little heavier)....if that helps.

I have the 5660 and cut 1/4 coil off of it and plan to cut another 1/4 coil off this winter. That should give me a 2" drop plus I have tall lower ball joints which drop it another 1/2". In the rear I have 5659 with 3/4 of a coil cut off. I'll be cutting another 1/4 coil off this winter which should drop the back 1.75 " I have an A body rear end however which puts the springs in a different angle so with a 7.5 rear the springs I have would not give you the same ride height, your car would be lower by maybe 1/2".

pontiacgp,

Reading that the 5660 has a 639lbs/in spring rate uncut, further cutting would produce a very stiff spring rate. To me, this seems like it would be a quite harsh/too stiff. How does the car handle and how do you like them? I am not familiar with how a 650-700+ rate would compare to a stock 420 rate so I would appreciate any info/advice.
