One more question. ..if I went wuth 2 bolt pontiac 400 I'm like 2 1/2 inches short of mounts on gp frame...any suggestions on what mounts or adapters for that?

Have you had either of these motors in this car before? If you're switching from a 305 Chevy or a V6, you're going to have to change the frame side mounts to put a Pontiac motor in the car. The mounts were different for each type of engine. There's many others on here that have done these swaps, using 2 and 3 bolt blocks. Read through some of their posts to see what has worked for them. All start with the correct frome side mounts for a Pontiac though. Your 3 bolt block with what I described above would be the easiest "bolt in" option. Good luck with your swap.

I had a chevy[ 350 4 bolt in it and it blew. I have two pontiac 400,s and like to put the one with 2 bolts in it for I know it has more hp already done to it....but your right three would be easier and I will try and find those post. thanks again
