on the chevy 350 im working with i need to get an adjustable power steering bracket for a long water pump but cant find one. all i see is for short pumps. it has a stationary bracket but the a/c compressor was used to put tension on the belt. but i took out the a/c system so now i need a way to put tension on the p/s belt. can someone point me in the direction or a bracket. thanks

also the long water pump pulley has 3 grooves. would i be able to use a short wp power steering bracket? or would i be better off just going to a short style pump since i got a 3 groove pulley anyway.

Ebay or the wrecking yards is the only places.... I had same problem and just returned pump cuz couldn't find bracket in junk yard...I'm think you want the 3 peice bracket but not sure there's two different ones on ebay type in chevy 350 power steering bracket....ill just live without power steering

i really dont care for p/s either. did u use a manual gear box or did u just plug yours up.

Plug what up??? I dont know I just left it off I found a one peice ps pump bracket but got it home and wouldn't fit...like it was for a longer water pump but I already got long water pump so I just returned pump and forgot about it.....what do I need to plug up...the engine I'm talkin about is a 75 350 chevy and its goin in a 79 cutlass supreme that currently has 260 olds in it setup for power steering so do I need to plug somthin up on the car or my new moter?

probably faster to get one of those cheap chrome brackets or hit the junkyard. The pulley will have to come off the pump then bolt the new/used chevy brackets to the pump. Or get the complete pump and unbolt the hoses from the donor car and swap everything over. If you can find a pump with brackets..

im talkin about pluggin up the inlet and outlet on the gear box. did u install a manual gear box or did u use the power steering gear box and just plug up the ports.

i was lookin at those cheap chrome ones but they say for short pump. and i dont wanna spend 70 bucks on a p/s pump bracket for the long pump. im gonna try to use the short pump bracket with some bolt spacers and see if i can get it lined up.

You have to convert to a manual gearbox. A power steering gear box without the actual power steering fluid going through it is a HECK of a lot harder to turn than even a manual steering gear box!

Try to find a non ac donar car.............either a v-8 or v-6 WILL work.................When you find it just grab the brackets there..and you don't need the three groove pulley either, that 's used if you have the a/c 🙂
