If your gonna go through the painting process, you may as well remove the doors and get in behind them. I wouldnt be halfassing it now and the bodyshop probly just doesnt want to have the nightmare of realigning the doors. Do it right once instead of regret it everytime you see it.

Well, the progress has started. I've seen my inner fenders painted, but with that new question came up.

The body shop told me that they used two coats and that the clear is mixed in already. Is that sufficient? Everywhere I read, there are few coats of color and then few coats of clear.

I can say don't get an economy job. I did a cab swap on my truck and brought it to a local bodyshop and the owner said he would beat maccos price. The cab was green painted black. One coat of single stage later if I park in the sun my cab is still green and I am out $250 in green. So don't cheep out cuz you will regret it.
