Ok, The guy prior to my ownership told me it needs a cruise / delay / turn signal switch. He has bypassed the power so that the wipers can be turned off. Once you turn on the wipers the only way to stop them is to turn off the "added" switch. Then the wipers stop where they are. Then you have to switch the factory switch to off and turn the power on again and the wipers will go to "park position".

So the question of the day, why the heck is it over $110 for a switch or am I missing where to purchase it?

I have bought for other cars for less than $50 for a GM.

I would like a black one, but if I can save some $$$. Then chrome / black it is.

I have a 1983 Buick Regal limited with cuise and delay wipers.

Yea its the cruise control feature that makes the price jump. Without the cruise you can find them as low as 20 bucks. I need one to just cause all the chrome came off it. Imma try and find one at the junkyard. pretty much allot of GM cars came with them.

have you tried mikes montes, dixie montecarlo and sites like that?, i broke off the little lever that turns the washers on and got one from one of those sites, dont remember how much they are though.

I wonder if you can just use the one without cruise? Hell I don't use that sh*t anyways .

You guys are talking about 2 different things.

The signal lever contains the cruise switch (when equipped)
The wiper switch is in the column

Rockauto.com shows wiper switches from $16.46 to $111.79 depending on options (pulse/tilt)

I am in a similar situation. My multi-function switch physically broke for my 1983 Cutlass which has pulse wipers and cruise control on a tilt column. I ended up with the reasonably priced (chrome) one for what I realize is 1984+. I installed it anyways as wiper and directional are currently more important than cruise is. I would like to use the cruise in the future so, I am hoping to be able to re-do the cruise wire harness so I can splice the original 3 wire blade end with the new 4 wire harness. I have seen the schematic for the 4 wire but not the 3 wire. Is there anyone that has figured out how to re-configure the wiring or can someone point me to both schematics?

Thanks,
Dave
