The best combo with the 3.11 is a 3.73 out back. In wet weather the car was going faster then the rear tires down shifting too fast at a light, hell of a hop. My '72 was set up that way.

When I had a Pontiac 400 in my '81 Malibu wagon I tried 3:73's and I hated them. Even with big 225-75-15 tires I was screaming at 5000rpm trying to keep up with traffic. Worse it took a tank of gas to get from Queens to Englishtown NJ and another tank to get home. With 3:23's I got there and back on less than one tank and averaged 16mpg. I had the 3:11 first trans in it at the time and the overall ratio was a perfect 10 so it really was a pleasure to drive with the 3:23's.

None, buy a real transmission save your space and never worry about it again.
