What about rims that have been widened to 15x8? What tire would give factory sidewall but wider tire for the rear.

if they are 15X8 with 4" BS you can generally put up to a 275/60 without rubbing. For factory 26" height, 275/50.

215/65 and 275/60 looks the most bad *ss.

Tire rotation? Really? On a car driven on weekends? Come on!

Make a visual statment.

Stock GN wheels get really close to the frame with 275/60's and will rub more with slightly wider 275/50's. It may only rub one side, but odds are pretty good there will be frame rub. Nitto 275's were smaller than MT or BFG's and maybe could get away without excessive rub, but any other 275's will likely rub.

1/4" spacer or aftermarket 15X8 4" BS GN wheels should work good with 275/60's. T-type wheel's have 1/4" less BS than the GN wheels and don't have a problem on the frame with 275's.

Aluminum drums help too. Then you only need a 1/8" spacer.

Don't ever disregard the importance of tire rotation. I bought a set of Dunlops for my truck and had them rotated faithfully and the tires lasted me 9 years! I would never have gotten 9 years and even tread wear if i didn't rotate the tires.

Performance tires only last about 4 years max and should be discarded. I'm cheap so I still use them for spares or on cars I don't drive much, but there is a night/day difference between a tire that sat on a shelf for 5 years and one that's fresh from the tire factory. Nobody is ever going to win an autocross with 5 years old tires, even if they are NOS. If they were used/heat cycled for those 5 years, its way worse.

I wish this wasn't true but I had a 3 year old tire have a tread separation during a race and it had less than 1,500 miles on it. I had an old NOS set of super soft BFG R1's I was going put on my TTA and they turned out to be rock hard and useless. I've also switched back and forth between old and new sets of wheels and you can tell the difference blindfolded (just riding not driving, but driving the difference is more obvious).

My sister had a set of tires go 100K miles on her 2010 MKT by rotating them. I would never do that.
