what tires on 15x9 rear rims

Hi guys!
Thanks for the informations !!
So I have some news :
when I withdraw the drum, I still have a play in the rear right axle so It doesn't come from the drum. Maybe 2mm rotational play and 1 mm axial play even when the wheel is tightened. I have checked on youtube, and It seems normal to have a little play on axles with C-Clip. Do you confirm ??

I have just seen that the inside of the tire is worn, so I guess the inside of the tire already touches the fram !!

The problem is that I don't want to change the studs of my axles by longer ones. That's why I would prefer a bolt on adapter !
Why do you think it's to much 1" adapters without jacked up tail? because the wheel will be to much outside and the tire would be touching the vehicle body ?

On the photo it seems to have a lot of space between the tire and the body, no ?

For my problem of hubcentric :
I was think of putting a hubcentric plastic ring 69.7->72.4 on the right wheel and a 70.5->72.4 ring on the left wheel.
Then putting 72.4mm adapters, and then putting hubcentric rings that goes from 72.4 to 82.8 mm
Is it posible to do something like that ?

Thanks a lot !

The studs will press out with a C-clamp and a socket.

If you like the jackup'd look and the associated bad handling, any offset wheel spacer is fine in back. Maybe that look is still "in" in Tahiti. It went "out" in the US back in 1988.

Don't sweat the hubcentric. Non hubcentric will be fine on a jacked up rear end cruiser. I've run non hubcentric spacers above 165 mph for years with no issues.

Hello!
I have finally put 255 60 15 at the rear and they look pretty good !!

But the tire shop men told me I have to change the front tires too because they are in bad shape and thats why I have vibrations in my steering wheel.
For the moment I have 225 50 15 tires... but they didn't have that in stock and recommanded me to take 60 for the height of the tire, it will be more confortable and they tire will be stronger to hold the heavy v8 engine and to face the bad roads of tahiti.
They only have 205 60 15 in stock. what do you think about this size ???
I would prefer 225 60 15, no ? Would it be ok with my car?
Its 15x7 rims, and the backspacing must be the same as the rear rims...

hi guys !
I finally bought 235 60 15 for the front, but they rub the body when I turn and drive on a pot hole... I think the front of my car is lowered... and now they are too high ?
I have checked the new diameter of the wheels is 66,3 cm and with my previous tires it was 60.6 cm !

What would you advice to me ? Should I resell these one and try to put 205 60 15, It gives 62.7 cm for the diameter of the wheel ?
Or should I give the good height for the car by changing the shocks or something like that ?

Thanks !

Thanks for your answers !
For the moment I hesitate between changing the tires and go back to smaller tires like I used to have : 225 50 15 was not rubbing but I don't find it here in tahiti for the moment, or 205 60 15 which is a bit higher...

Or by changing the front coil springs. Do you know the reference I need for my 1980 cutlass supreme ?
I don't find it on rockauto for the year of my car, there is some for 1981 1982 cutlass supreme but not for 1980, but maybe they are not the same ?

I found that :
https://www.summitracing.com/int/pa...ar/1980/make/oldsmobile/model/cutlass-supreme

There are moog coil springs 5600, 5602, 5604 etc... which one do I need ? what are the differences between all theses ?

Do I have to change also the shock absorbers ? or new coil springs are enough to raise the front ?

Thanks!
