Do yourself a favor and look at the instruction sheet before you buy.
IMHO, for the price they are asking it should be bolt in and go. But that's just me.

If anyone knows of a better housing for sale... post it up!

that defiantly looks like to much work for what its worth i think ill live with my stock ac heater box until i get more ambitious.

Yeah it's BS... if you're going to do a hack n' slash job on stuff... just hack out the A/C evaporator "suitcase" and fibreglass the lower section and the upper section seperately (so you can still unscrew the top lid) and you're in the same boat (with 170 more dollars in your pocket, and probably takes less time to do). I think I saw a thread on here where a member riveted in aluminum and painted it black instead of doing the fibreglass.

Is that a Vintage Air setup? I'm thinking of eventually going with one on mine to clean up the engine bay.

Actually I'm using a Hot Rod Air evaporator with a Sanden 508 compressor.

Essentially what I did was take the block off plate idea and then just tilt it out to make a small box and mounted the evaptorator on the other side:

However you do lose the function of your glove box going this route.

Hot Rod Air has had my stock controls now forever modifying them to work with their evaporator. I haven't really needed them since I have so much other stuff to work on but I sent them off back in July. 🙁

My Malibu has no A/C and the factory non A/C-heater box leaves lots of room for the motor. I had a Pontiac 400 in there and I could get at the rear plugs very easy. Are you near NYC? You could come get it for free.

It's nice having them fresh air vents with the A/C Delete setup.

Maybe Bonnewagon will ship you the one he speaks of if you ask him Per$ua$ively. I've sold 6 of them myself, It's about $75 to get one from A to B, in 2 large boxes. Believe me, they can get expensive.

My wagons are my fishing cars and boy do they get hot as hell sitting in traffic on the way home in August. I suffered without A/C for years but now I'm fitting A/C onto the Bonnewagon. The Malibu is getting stripped and if anyone wants the non-AC set up it's all there including the in-the-car ducting, control panel, and vent controls under the steering column. It got whacked by the 400 going in, but I patched it. I can't imagine shipping all that but if he wants it, he's got first dibs. If not anyone near NYC can come get it before I junk it.

I swapped them into both my 442...

Please point me to that setup you have that is perfect!!!!!. I must have it!!! 😀

Blake did it right. Don't make some retarded delete plate out of plywood, scrap metal, or a street sign!!! If you don't want AC I understand. But at some point you WILL want heat or fresh air. And keep everything you take off.

OR use said scrap metal/street sign (agreed that plywood is a little hilljack 😛) if you don't drive the car a lot... in the rain... etc. or if it's temporary, like mine is.

It looks about ten times cleaner than the factory setup, that's for sure. Are you going with one of the cowl extension pieces like you can get from GBodyParts.com? I thought it looked a little vertical compared to sitting flush on the firewall... I don't see why it couldn't be extended a little more to make room for the glove box... unless parts of the A/C/heater unit hit the plate, which looks very possible.
