383 Stroker dyno'd @ 450+ ft lbs and 430 hp.
Currently has a th350.
Rear is unknown, but hopefully getting a QP with 3.70 gears.
Shifter will be a B&M 81052
G-Force crossmember.
Approx 2400 torque Converter (not sure about sizing and brand yet).

Looking at a 700r4 built locally. They are vouched for by at least 4 racers and dozens of people in the local facebook groups..." all new seals, clutches, high energy 2/4 band, high energy 3/4 clutch, .500 boost valve, corvette servo, 10 vane pump, reprogramed converter clutch lockup (no computer needed) good for up to 450hp "

I've been reading about the importance of geometry and setup of a tv cable, brackets, etc... which kit/components should I be purchasing?

Thanks.

I've used the bowtie overdrives kit for a Carter AFB/Edelbrock carb in the past. A lot of the other kits seemed focus just on the geometery of the carb linkage and ignore the relationship to the cable mount. My dad also used their kit for an early Holley projection setup.

Are you sure you want to use the 700 R4 with that power level? Every experienced transmission guy I talk to says to stay away and upgrade to a 4L80.
My truck has a 700 R4 behind a 325 HP LT1....soon to be LS turbo powered. It wont take the abuse.

4L80 is a big trans, it doesn't fit in a G Body with out some tunnel surgery.

I'm not sure that's accurate. Multiple threads/members on this forum and others have said they didn't have to do anything but cut off the ears on the 4l80e.

TV cable from a early 90's Chevy truck that came with an OD; mid 80's full size wagon, etc, etc. Basically, anything that came with a 200 or 700 as long as didn't have a TPI or LT1 with the forward throttle body (those have a longer cable that will be too long for a carb.)

The dilemma with the 700 is the ultra low 1st gear. Some won't mind it, but launching it is difficult. The 4L80E is a fine choice as long as you're capable of handling the electronics, but it's no cheaper all said and done, but it's tougher in stock form than a 700. If you go with a 700, then it will need to be built more than stock. And IMO if you're going to spend the money to build it, then build a 200 with a much friendlier gear ratio.

there's plenty of people using 700's behind power.if you have any reservations about it you should talk to the guy building the trans for you as he'll be able to answer any concerns you might have about your future trans and go from there.

You would be correct sir. I run one in my 1986 442. No modifications to the tunnel required.
