I wouldn't think twice about paying that for a real GN axle and wheels. Even if you don't want the wheels, you could sell them off to offset the price of the axle.

$500 is a good price for a working non posi 8.5. Posi & wheels make it a great deal.

No, they weren't. I had a lead on an 8.5 open rear out of a GN, until they guy figured out what he had.

I would make sure that it is in fact an 8.5 rear out of a G-body though. If it is, I'd say $500 is a fair deal for it and a set of wheels.
