Hey all. I was hoping you guys can give us some guidance.

We just picked up a few cars from Oklahoma that have been in storage for years.

One of them was a 1989 T Type Regal. It is white with red leather interior ( bench front seat ) and only 60,000 original miles. What is the opinion of value on a well above average condition car?

Thanks in a advance !!!

I'm assuming this is either a 3.8 v6 or a 301 v8(not sure exactly on that) but I'm guessing it's not a super desirable motor and likely paired with a 3 speed transmission. Long story short it's a slow car, a nice one but It will be a definite drivetrain swap candidate.

If I were in the market, and I do really like that car, I'd like to believe I could get it for $4,500.

That year model, even in pristine condition, isn't very desirable and would probably sell at $3500 max unless you find someone looking for that specific model.

The grille and header look like a 79 vintage. That looks like a turbo hood.
If you are not technical ,the easy ID between V6 and V8 is the depth of the fan shroud. The edge facing the motor is about 6" from the radiator with a V8 and about 12" with a V6.

The car would be an excellent starting point for someone. I have an uncut Buick 455 in my garage looking for a car, but I have too many projects at the moment.

i know its not super desirable, but, turbo hood, gauges, split bench seat, bumper fillers look intact. if the rest of the car looks as good as what is shown and it runs, i would think minimum of $4000. and here is the most important part, ITS ALL THERE, COMPLETE! no chasing around, looking for parts. just imagine how much time you save NOT looking for parts if you bought this car. great candidate for an engine swap and buckets (the seat mounts are already there). just drive it, enjoy it, and modify it as you go.
just my opinion, joe

The lack of bodywork, if the underside is also cherry, makes $4K seem like a bargain. 20/20 hindsight...

It's really going to be worth whatever you can get - you can come down but can't go up. Tried to get $4500.00 for my 50000 mi LJ GP an finally got $3400 almost a year later.
