how much is it going to cost to swap a LSX engine Into a Monte ss? I have a transmission and a good rear but how much will it cost to swap one in? i would be setting it up with a carb so I know I would need an intake, I have a carb and an HEI dizzy

Read Hot Rod and Car Craft. They do a ton of stuff on LS motors. If you go the LS route, please stick with the fuel injection. That's the way these motors were made, keep it that way. Most people shy away from FI because they've never dealt with it. If you want to go the carb route, just get an older motor, instead of tearing apart an LS motor where the FI is probably ready to go. Just my 2 cents
If your going to tear off the efi that helps make these engines great, just save the headache of the swap and build a gen 1. As far as what it cost, I have seen figures of 2-3k to get it in the car and running. Thats not including the cost of the engine itself.
