The black film only appears when polishing uncoated natural aluminum.

thing is this is chrome polish and it says its supposed to happen...my mothers aluminum polish says the same thing except it says not to use it on chrome so i went out and bought actual chrome polish specifically for chrome rimms and like i say, it says the black resin should show up...

So what is the problem if they are cleaning the chrome? Are you worried you don't have chrome rims?

I've never had a chrome polish that created a black residue when polishing chrome. Only aluminum.

What brand polish did you buy?

bluemagic metal polish cream. theres no problem really, if anything i just wanna know if im doing damage to these rims. they are my first set of rims aside from cutlass ralleys that actually turn every head on the street so just out of respect for em, id like to treat them right.
