not sure what it's called. i need the tool/device that is used to take that screw/bolt out that holds the wheel cover on, that hides the lug nuts.
does anyone where i can find one of these...or order one?
or...is there a way i can improvise some other (common) tool to do the same job?
i need my tires replaced but i can't get my tires off...argh
worst case senario....if i have no other choice, is it possible to "bust off" the wheel covers so that i can get to the lug nuts?

any help is greatly appreciated

Can you see the color on the top of the nut? Most Cutlass's were color coded. I have seen red, black, green and yellow. I have had some luck in the past by taking a cheap socket and grinding or sawing parts of it away until there were two prongs left - one on each side. I could usually find a spot where it would fit into the nut. Once removed, I replaced them with standard nuts and used a thin walled socket to remove them.

The pictures show a green coded wrench and nut.

I have also used sockets before. I hate those nuts! I have nearly destroyed hubcaps getting those off before.

unfortunatly i cannot see a color on it
a couple weekends ago i stopped by a GM dealership and was told those wheel lock tools are discontinued...they can't order them
it seems i'm out of luck
i'm going to see if i have any success "ripping" them off, then call a welding person to cut them off, one person said they could do that, oh well...

Take a picture of them maybe someone can help before you destroy your wheel covers.
Try going to a tire shop All the Discount tire shops around here have master sets of these keys.

Where do you live in North Carolina? I live in Hickory. I am sure we could get them off without destroying the hubcaps.

I had the same problem last week. I used a 12 point 7/16 socket, tapped it over the bolt head with a hammer, and was able to ratchet it out.
